Nikon Coolpix L820 Review

L820 is a advance point and shoot camera from Nikon. It has very decent features like optical zoom and full HD video recording. One thing the L820 has going for it: it is a great advanced point and shoot camera with entry DSLR features packed and even the looks of L820 is much similar to a DSLR.

Nikon L820

It comes in Black, Blue, Plum and Red colors and 111.0 (W) x 76.3 (H) x 84.5 (D) mm body. I really appreciate Nikon for L820 because it is a really best advanced point and shoot camera at its price range.

Design

Design of L820 is great looking, it looks more like a DSLR camera. It has great grip in hands and easier to hold. The buttons are decently placed and minimal without a lot of buttons. Back side of the Camera has 3 inch TFT LCD Screen with Anti-reflection coating, image mode, video mode settings wheel, menu and delete button.

The body part little bit plasticky, it has clip on lens for cap. The weight of the L820 is bit heavier compared to other camera’s with similar features. For zooming the lever is correctly placed to at the edge of the right side of camera, you can adjust zoom levels easily using your right hand pointing finger.

Features

The main attraction of L820 is its features. The control and menu system is easily understandable. Navigating through menu is very simple as it primarily has only auto, easy and scene mode, perfect for anyone to just point it and start shooting.

I personally very impressed with back light HDR feature which enhance clear and crisp images even in low light. Next main attractive feature is Mic, it supports stereo recording in full HD video (30 fps and 1080i). BSI CMOS with f/3 – f/5.8 Aperture captures really good low light images.

It has various shooting modes Auto, Scene (Scene Auto Selector, Portrait, Sports, Night Portrait, Party / Indoor, Beach, Snow, Sunset, Dusk / Dawn, Close-up, Food, Museum, Fireworks Show, Black and White Copy, Panorama, Pet Portrait, 3D Photography), Night Landscape, Landscape, Back lighting, Special Effects, User Settings, Program, Smart, Manual.
