How To Install Android 4.4 KitKat Update On Nexus 7 & 10

Google recently unveiled the KitKat, if you want to install this latest OS on your Nexus 7 and 10 simply follow this guide.

Google has just started the rolling out the update for the Nexus 7 &10. If you are the owner of Nexus 7 or 10 you are among the lucky person to hands on KitKat flavor on your device.

Prerequisites:

Google Nexus 7 or 10.

PC

Android SDK installed for ADB access.

USB debugging enabled

Download Android 4.4 KitKat Update for:

Nexus 10

Nexus 7 (2012) Wi-Fi edition

Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi edition

Installation Procedure:

1.Connect the device to your PC.

2.Reboot the device and go to recovery mode, and put it into ADB sideload mode (apply update from adb on stock recovery)

3.Open a Command Prompt or Terminal window and navigate to the location where you have the OTA update file.

4.Now enter this command in the command prompt or terminal window.

adb sideload filename.zip

Here replace filename with the full name of the update file.

It will take some time and device reboots. Now you have KitKat running Nexus 7 or 10.

Enjoy the flavor of KitKat.
