The Nexus 5 recently got latest version of Android 4.4.1 KOT49E firmware update. It don’t requires a complex ADB process and from now you can root the device with CF Root method. Once you root the device you can then install the custom ROM’s. We are here to help you to easily getting things done.
- Backup your device completly.
- Enable the debugging mode by going Settings->Applications->Development->USB Debugging”
- Latest Android SDK
- Nexus 5 CF Root Package File.
Open the Android SDK and then enable the USB Debugging in your device. And then scroll down and tap on the Build Number 7 times for becoming the developer.
Now, enter the Fastboot mode and extract the same in the android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory.
Now, you need to download the CF Root for your Nexus 5 Android smartphone. Here, you must connect the Nexus 5 handset to the PC by using a USB cable.
Press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons. Hold them down until you see the Fastboot menu and START on top for entering the device in the fastboot mode.
Now, depending on the OS you will then have to enter the below mentioned commands.
-chmod +x root-mac.sh
– Run root-mac.sh
-chmod +x root-linux.sh
– Run root-linux.sh
It will take some time to complete,make sure that KNOX is disabled in your device.
