How To Install Android KitKat 4.4.4 Barebones CM11 Custom ROM On HTC One M7

HTC One Android smartphone announced 2013, February. Features 3G, 4.7″ Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen, 4 MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and more. Now the users of HTC One M7 can update their device to Android KitKat 4.4.4 Barebones CM11 Custom ROM. This ROM is built by compiling CM11 ROM. Barebone CM11 ROM offers amazing features like rooting, removed bloat, removed apps, silent camera and battery tweaks. Follow this simple guide and update your device.

Pre Requisites

  • First backup all your contacts, call logs and SMS.
  • Enable USB debugging mode from Settings->Applications->Development->USB debugging in your device.
  • Install latest HTC One M7 drives on your computer.

How To Install Android KitKat 4.4.4 Barebones CM11 Custom ROM On HTC One M7

1.Download Android KitKat0Barebones Custom ROM and Google Apps package on your PC.

2.Connect your device to computer and transfer the downloaded files to your internal SD card and make sure the files are in the SD card root. And Copy/paste the boot.img file to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory.

3.Disconnect device from PC and turn off the device.

4.Now enter into bootloader mode by pressing and holding volume down+power buttons together.

5.In the Fastboot mode, navigate to android-sdk-windows\platform-toolsdirectory on your computer and open Command Prompt and enter the following command

fastboot flash boot boot.img

6.Next enter this command.

fastboot reboot

7.Now enter into bootloader and go to recovery option. Here perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset”, cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition” and also perform wipe dalvik cache .

8.Now go back to main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD Card”. Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Using your volume keys, navigate to the Android 4.4.4 ROM file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button.

8.Same procedure (step 8 only) is applied for Google Apps package also.

9.After installations go back and reboot the device. It might take 5 minutes to boot on your first time.

For the firmware update confirmation go to Settings>>About phone to verify the version.
