- Make sure to Backup all your Important Files, Apps contacts, call logs and SMS.
- Make sure to charge your phone at least 80%. (If the battery Drops, It may badly affect the Phone)
- Enable USB debugging mode from Settings->Applications->Development->USB debugging.
How to Install Android 6.0 Frank N4 Marshmallow Custom Firmware on Nexus 4
2.Connect and then Mount the Nexus 4 USB memory on your computer using the USB cable.
3.Copy the downloaded Android 6.0 ROM zip and Google Apps zip files and paste it to your internal SD card. Make sure that the files are not in any folder and It is on the Root of the SD card.
4.Turn OFF the device and Disconnect the USB cable.
5.Turn ON the phone while Press and hold the Volume Up + Volume Down and Power Buttons to get into the Bootloader Mode.
6.Follow the navigation instructions on the screen carefully.
7.Select BOOTLOADER and then go to RECOVERY.
8.Once you Reached the ClockworkMod Recovery, Perform a full data erase by selecting “wipe data/factory reset”. Use the Power button to select everything while on Recovery Mode window.
9.Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition”.
Note: Performing a wipe of your dalvik cache will help you to avoid getting into boot loops or any other errors. To do this, From CWM recovery window, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.
10.Go back to the main recovery screen Then select “install zip from SD card”.
11.Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Use your Volume keys to navigate to the Android 6.0 ROM zip file and select it using the Power button.
12.To start the Installation, Confirm the installation on the Next screen.
What about the Google Apps?
Repeat the above step for the Gapps zip file as well and install it on the device.
13.After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++”.
14.Reboot the device by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu.
Your Nexus 4 will boot now and it might take at least 5 minutes (May be more) to boot on your first time. So, please be patient.
