Yu has now launched the successor of the YU Yutopia named YU Yunicorn. The device is known to be a redefined YU flagship with 4000mAh big battery and a fingerprint sensor. It is also powered by the 4G LTE technology comprised under a full metallic body. Another improvement is the rear camera which has the features like Phase-detection autofocus, Electronic image stabilization, HDR, etc. to power the images. It can record the videos upto 1080p clarity that is more than enough for the normal usage.
The 4000mAh battery is the main attraction in Yunicorn, which the company claims 4 days of usage, 20 hours of talk time, or 500 hours of standby time from a single charge. There is a fast charging technology inside to provide quick charging within a few minutes. That’s not bad. But, there are doubts that the 4G technology on the device will drain the battery very fast as we’ve seen on many big battery smartphones. As there are no usage reviews are out, we can’t speculate the battery details of the YU Yunicorn.
The YU Yunicorn is equipped with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1920×1080 resolution. Gorilla glass 3 on the top provides a protective layer to the display by delivering superior hardness that can resist accidental drops and damages. The fingerprint sensor placed on the home button of the Yunicorn can store upto 5 different fingerprints that can be recognized within 0.2 seconds. The failure rate is also very less from out tests.
Looking to the camera of the Yunicorn, 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash also has the features like Phase-detection autofocus, Electronic image stabilization, HDR, etc. that are very much enhancing the imaging capabilities of the users. For powering the selfies, there is a 5.0 MP camera on the front that is also not too bad in providing good quality images. UsersYou can also capture HD quality clips with the 1080p resolution.
Under the hood, there is an octa-core (4 cores at 1.8GHz clocking speed and 4 cores at 1.4GHz) MediaTek Helio P10 SoC processor. It is very rare to see this combination in smartphones which might be creating hope for the high-end users. 4GB RAM also increases the performance of the Yunicorn by supporting other hardware elements. It is coming with a 32GB internal memory that can be later expanded upto 128GB via micro SD card.
YU Yunicorn is priced Rs. 12,999 and exclusively sold through Flipkart. It is available in Rush silver, Rush gold, and Graphite color variants.
