Xiaomi had great success in the budget segment with Mi 3, Mi 4i and Redmi Note. All these devices have excellent build quality offered at very low and competitive pricing. We are entered into a new smartphone era which is ruled by Chinese smartphone companies.

One company which has removed the “cheap quality Chinese smartphone” name with their handsets is Xiaomi. Today we are reviewing one of the most popular phablet the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.5 inch 4G phablet

Build Quality & Features

One of the specialties of this budget phablet is its build quality. The curved edges and the flat black panel gives it a decent design. The device comes with a 5.5 inch IPS, Capacitive display which has a resolution of 1280 X 720 which is pretty good standard display for a phablet.

The front part of the phablet contains a 5.5-inch display, the viewing angles are pretty good, and lighting is good for both indoors and outdoors.The rear panel is made of plastic with a matte finish and has a unibody design with removable panels. The camera unit and LED flash are located on the top, and the speaker is at the bottom.

The phablet has 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing 5MP camera. It comes with single standard SIM support with 3G and 4G. The device is packed with 3200mAh battery with a promising one-day usage.

Performance

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.5 inch 4G Phablet features a 5.5 inch HD ready display and is powered by Snapdragon 400 MSM8928, Cortex A7 quad core, a 1.6GHz processor with 1GB RAM. The phone also comes with 4G LTE support.

Performance wise, the device is pretty impressive at this price point. The Android user experience is fast and responsive, and you really cannot complain about the performance of this handset. Coming to signal quality, the device has very good reception rates. Call quality is top notch; we’ve tested call quality on traditional phone calls, Facebook Messenger calling, WhatsApp call, and Skype.

The Gaming is pretty good too; the device can handle almost all types of games with ease. By default the device comes with 8GB preloaded memory, you can expandable up to 32GB. Overall the device is capable of delivering more than you can expect from a phablet in this price range. Battery performance is also good, with the 3200mAh battery you can expect 6-7 hours of talk time. We could easily manage a day with an average usage which is good for a budget smartphone.

Priced at $144, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.5 inch 4G Phablet is probably one of the cheapest 4G LTE enabled a device with good specs like HD ready display, Snapdragon 400 MSM8928, and 1GB RAM. For the price you will not find a better device, this device is a real winner in phablets competition.
