“Android Cleaner” applications can be good utilities for smartphones in case one is expecting better performance. And in spite of their names, they do more than just “cleaning”. This holds true for most such apps present on Google Play Store, and today we have here for review Systweak Android Cleaner, a relatively new entrant in this segment. Let’s see how it fared.
User Interface
We found Systweak Android Cleaner to be one of the simplest applications to use the phone optimization category. All important features can be accessed from the home screen, which also shows the percentage of used “storage space” and used RAM. There is a Phone Boost button and below that, lies all four modules of the app (details later).
Although the overall layout is not very visually appealing, it looks balanced. But the focus here is on ease-of-use. Android loads applications into RAM, and thus the RAM gets increasingly occupied with the number of applications you launch or use. This adversely impacts the overall fluidity of the phone.
The Home Screen of Systweak Android Cleaner has a Phone Boost, a tap on which frees up RAM (see image), clears application cache & stops background services. It worked fine as my device was a little snappier than it was before using Phone Boost.
Junk Files Cleaner
So this is the cleaning part of the application. It scans for and allows to remove junk items such as .apk files, cache, browser data, and other temporary files. Cleaning your device is not going to shoot up its speed but will keep it clean and clutter free.
Storage Manager
The best part of the application is the ease with which users can manage the internal and external storage of their smartphones. If you are pretty frequent with downloading, installing and saving, this module could be a life-saver. In a minimum number of taps, you can see which files are taking most of the space on your system. It is also very easy to locate obsolete files and delete them (It is tedious when done manually).
App Manager
App Manager lists all installed applications along with space they are taking. With two taps, one can delete any unwanted apps taking considerable space in your phone.
Battery Saver
The battery is a scarce resource in today’s smartphones. Battery saver feature is all automated and comes with pre-set settings that add a few extra hours to the battery life. It is definitely an advantage for those whose phone spends more time on charging than on performing tasks.
Conclusion
Systweak Android Cleaner leaves very little to complain about. It is easy to use and does what it claims. It is free and shows no ads. So there isn’t any downside to this app. Systweak Android Cleaner is definitely recommended.
