Cubot X12 Design

The Cubot X12 looks stunning from all angles. The sides are curved to cut down the edges of the devices. Alongside the edges, Cubot accepted a curvy design on the up and down portions of the smartphone. It diverse the device from the normal rectangular smartphones from the first look itself. The device has a matte finish all over the body which doesn’t reflect the light. It has a comparatively slimmer body. To be accurate, the device is about 8.1 mm thick. Cubot accepted a clean design that doesn’t make it a bored device.

Looking from the front, you will notice an IPS capacitive display with a decent visual quality. It doesn’t reflect the light to the eyes of the users. The front camera and the speakers are placed in the traditional way. Moving to the back cover, there is nothing more than the usual scenes. A back camera coupled with the flash, the speaker and the cubot logo with some information. The volume buttons are placed o the left side while the power button is on the right. Overall the X12 looks nice.

Display

The Cubot X12 features a 960 x 540 pixels OGS IPS display with a size of 5 inches. It outputs some decent quality alongside some good visual experience. While watching the HD videos, you could experience the stunning clarity for the resolution it providing. The screen is not that much small, but not that much big. The perfect screen-body ratio looks nice. It won’t affect the visual quality by high brightness or contrast. It is very sleek and optimized for a good visual experience on the screen.

Camera

While coming to the camera, it has an 8.0 MP shooter on the back with the functionalities like auto-focus and lighting adjustment. You can record Full HD videos using the perfect shooter. The camera well works on outdoor, but shows some dimness on poor conditions. While flipping the device, there is a 5.0 MP front facing camera which is perfect for selfies. The face recognition feature is also a plus to the camera of the device.

Performance and Connectivity

The Cubot X12 has a heart of MediaTek MT6735M Cortex A7 quad-core SoC running at 1.0GHz which sounds like a bit lower than the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime that provides a 1.2GHz CPU. That device also costs around $100. But, for this price range, the specs are quite explainable. Multi-tasking is covered by the 1GB RAM which also lesser when compared to the Redmi 2 Prime. There is a Mali-720 GPU to power the gaming on the smartphone. The Mali-720 GPU sounds like a great one which can provide a smoother gameplay. But, the battery capacity is being a question mark for gaming on the device.

The device equipped with the Android 5.1 Lollipop version. It can be upgraded to the latest one using the custom ROM installation. The company not yet released the Marshmallow update for the Cubot X12 which means, you should do it yourself. You will not find any problem making apps on the X12 which uses a lot of your system resources. The  device is very strict in terms of allocating some decent amount of RAM for the users. It sounds not good but Great.

The 4G connectivity is also a noticeable feature of the device. The 4G technology is still missing on some devices even costlier than $200. So, the inbuilt 4G in a device which worths only about $100 is quite amazing. Cubot did a great job by making this possible on the device.
