The price of this premium looking phone is just $120-150 in the market. It is the reason the Chinese smartphones are not easy to be avoided. They are bringing down the price tag of big corporates to the ground. At the same time, there are many competitors in the iPhone clone arena with relatively low price. Some reports from China also proving that there are millions ready to buy this iPhone clones. There are few iPhone Clone shops also working in some cities of China. If you do not wonder, those shops also cloned like the Apple stores.

When looking this phone in the Android point of view, this is a budget level Android phone with decent hardware.

Blackview Ultra Plus Review: Design and Build Quality

As already told, this smartphone is look alike iPhone 6S in the size and design. But, it is not covered by metal. The plastic materials are used in the build; you can expect good build quality.

On the left side, Volume rockers are located while the right side keeps Power button with the hybrid SIM card and micro SD card slot. Using the hybrid slot, you can use one SIM card and micro SD card at a time, or you can use two SIM cards and no micro SD card. The slot only has space for 2 cards, one for the SIM card and other for either  SIM card or micro SD card.

On the bottom side USB, port and loudspeakers are located. On the top side, a 3.5 mm audio jack pin is placed. The device weighing around 177 grams with a thickness of 7.8mm. It looks thin at this thickness.

On the rear, there is a camera and single tone flashlight is found while the front keeps space for Front camera in the top and Home button in the bottom.

As it is the iPhone clone, only the Home button is given in the lower part of the front side. For Android users, this will be a new experience to handle the operations without Menu and Back buttons.

The design is above average and worth for money, and Build quality is good at this price range. We can’t expect a metal build for $120 range.

Blackview Ultra Plus Review: Display

A 5.5-inch screen is sported in the Blackview Ultra Plus device. The display is made of IPS LCD technology. The screen resolution for this 5.5inch screen is 1280 X 720 pixels. It packs an HD resolution and not an FHD like many other 5.5 inch smartphones. For the budget phone, this is good if not perfect.

A 2.5D arc glass is producing good angles in the display. Overall Display quality is quite good for the value.

Blackview Ultra Plus Review: Hardware and Software Performance

Hardware part equipped with Media Tek MT6735P Quad-core processor with the clock speed of 1GHz. The Graphical processor in this device is Mali-T720 MP4. This processor chipset is shaking hands with a 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal storage.

The Hardware performance is enough for multi-tasking and using many of the games and apps in the Play store. But, while playing some of the high-end 3D graphical games like Asphalt 8, the screen showing some stuttering and lagging.

For the day to day use, this hardware gives the hand along your way. There are many smartphones using the same Hardware in their devices.

Android 5.1 is the OS installed in this device by default, but the stock Android is changed in some user interface to fit the UI of iOS. Though it is not 100% clone of UI, the app drawer and some other UI in touch actions are used over the stock Android.

Blackview Ultra Plus Review: Camera

The rear camera is an 8MP Sony IMX614 Exmor model which is producing decent photos and videos. The only cons we noticed is the noise and blurry detail in the low light situations. But the photos taken in the Indoor and Daylight Outdoor are looking great.

The front camera is just a 2MP one. This is good for casual selfie shots. In front camera also the same issue of low light – blurry images noticed. Daylight or indoor selfies are good.

Blackview Ultra Plus Review: Battery

The Battery capacity is 3180mAh. This looks big in number. We can get up to 7-10 hours of battery backup based on continuous usage. For casual usage, it can bring more backup time. The battery is a Non-removable type in this device. This is a disadvantage for those who want to change the battery or switch another backup battery during long travel occasions.

Blackview Ultra Plus Review: Connectivity

All the necessary connectivity such as 3G, WiFi, GPS, USB OTA, etc. are available in Blackview Ultra Plus.

Blackview Ultra Plus Review: Verdict

Blackview Ultra Plus is available for $120-140 range in the market. To compete with the other IPhone clones in the market, this is a competitive price given by Blackview. Also, when we look the value for money regarding performance and quality, they are equivalent to the cost.

This Smartphone is not giving extra benefits, but the design is the selling point. As the value matches with price, the deciding factor is IPhone design it cloned. For the iPhone fans who can’t have one iPhone in your pocket because of its hectic price, you can buy this Android smartphone which can feed your iPhone hunger to some extent.
