Samsung Galaxy J Max has an average display by quality. The display is made of TFT touchscreen, an old and poor technology. Then the resolution is low but acceptable in Tabs. The CPU and GPU are way too low with very poor performing chipset.
The 1.5GB of RAM is also low again followed by the 8GB internal storage. The 8MP rear Camera is average with the autofocus and flash. But the front camera follows the same low spec trend. Finally, a little relief is the battery with 4000mAh capacity. There is no special feature in this Tab.
Overall, this is very low end Tablet from Samsung.

Xiaomi Mi Max is better in all the way compared to this low end tab. Samsung Galaxy J Max has nothing good for the price. So, investing in this Tab is not a good idea.
