Ever wondered how your friend was able to convert those files you sent him from one format to the other? It’s not magic, there are paid and free tools out there that helped him with the file conversions. Conversion from PNG to PDF isn’t a herculean task like many have claimed especially if you know the following step-by-step procedures for the conversion.

Using Online Conversion Programs

As mentioned earlier, there are tons of free and paid tools for converting PNG files to PDF. Let’s see.

Using Adobe Acrobat

Adobe Acrobat is a paid tool from Adobe that can be used for PNG to PDF conversions. To use this software,

  1. First, download the Acrobat Pro DC 30-day Trial version from the Adobe website. Click start trial after installing it.
  2. Launch the software, click File > CreatePDF from File. Save the converted file. Simple, isn’t it?

Using Microsoft Word

Here’s one free tool many people don’t know how to use.

  1. Assuming you already have the PNG you’d like to convert to PDF, open a new blank Microsoft Word document.
  2. Insert the picture into Microsoft Word by clicking on insert > picture. Browse the PNG images you’d like to convert and click Open. The images will appear in the document.
  3. Then, Align it correctly and on the menu bar, click on File > Export > Create PDF/XPS Document on the left section of the screen.
  4. Then click on Create PDF/XPS on the right section of the screen.
  5. Click on Standard or Minimum Size as per your preferences. Whether you’re creating the PDF for online needs or just for publishing choosing one of them will be useful. If you would like to make some other changes like selecting particular pages to convert to PDF (assuming you arranged the PNG images page by page in the Microsoft Word document and you’d like to convert some pages but not the others), click on options and make those changes. Click OK.
  6. If you’d like to view the converted file before after the conversion, tick the box “Open file after publishing”, then Click Publish.

Converting a PNG file to PDF wasn’t such a difficult painstaking task, was it?
