When HP released the 34-inch curved screen HP Envy Curved AIOs, we all marveled at how they were able to achieve such a feat, the fact that it lacked a touchscreen not limiting the amount of positive reviews it got. Fast-forward to October, when HP released the super new HP Envy All-In-One 27 PC with a micro edge display on all four sides of the 27-inch QHD screen which supports 3.6 million pixels, making the screen look like a floating glass.
HP took the conventional components of the Envy AIO 27” PC from the back of the monitor and placed it in the base – a somewhat similar design to the Microsoft Surface Studio – giving the display screen a very slim look at 15mm. The Technicolor certified 2560 x 1440 pixel touchscreen display monitor is supported by an adjustable hinge that sprouts from the base which houses the CPU and the GPU with varying specifications as follows
- A Windows 10 enabled quad-core Intel Core i5 or i7-6700T paired with an 8GB or 16GB RAM, a 7200rpm 1TB SSHD or 2TB HDD with the optional 128GB SSD and a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M graphics chip, which even though it may not be one of the latest in the market, does great on the PC.
That’s not all.
There’s the almighty Bang & Olufsen sound bar lining the whole front of the base, and delivering premium sound with the fantastic touch sensitive soft knob for controlling playback. The base also houses four USB 3.0 Type A ports, one USB 3.1 Type C port (supports Thunderbolt 3), a 3 in 1 SD card reader as well as an HDMI-in and out ports. This implies that you can conveniently use the HDMI in port when you want to use the 27-inch screen as a standalone monitor or use the HDMI out when projecting to another monitor. There’s an air vent to the back of the base that ensures the PC doesn’t heat up no matter how much you use it.
The Windows Hello Camera on the monitor is built into a pop-up module you can tuck away when you’re not using the computer. That was very thoughtful of HP, considering the fact that a lot of people tape their webcams due to privacy concerns.
The HP Envy AIO 27” PC comes with the HP Orbit connectivity option that allows you seamlessly share content from your mobile devices to your PC through a secure Wi-Fi connection, not forgetting the HP Premium Lifestyle Wireless Keyboard and mouse.
The retail price for the product starts at $1,300 up to $1700 depending on the configuration.
With this HP Envy all-in-one PC, one can confidently say with ease that HP has been able to “reinvent how form embraces performance”.
