Asus Zenfone Live Review

Asus Zenfone Live Review

Asus never failed to provide quality devices over the years. The Zenfone series has been serving the users with a lineup of different models including the Zenfone Max focused on the camera, Zenfone Laser focused on the battery, and now they are up with the Zenfone Live which said to be having numerous functions to make you look good on social medias. The company claims that the device will make you look good in your live sessions as well as in your pictures. Without the need of any editing or enhancements using an external application, you can make yourself beautiful using the Asus Zenfone Live.

After receiving so many review requests from our readers, we have finally decided to have a look at the device and confirm that the device is worthy to be bought. We will be analyzing its design, features, and will be providing our final take on the product. So, without wasting your time, let’s directly have a look at the Asus Zenfone Live review.

Asus Zenfone Live Design

Available in three different colors, Rose Pink, Black, and Gold, the device has an almost identical design to that of the Zenfone 3 series. As the company always make sure to introduce new designs with every series, honestly we were expecting something better in the design of the product. But yes, it does provide a number of differences from the old Asus devices. The body looks clean as always and very easy to hold in the hands. The usual rounded edges enhance the grip to a good extent.

The device is weighing around 120gms which doesn’t feel that heavy in hands. At the front, as usual, there is a selfie camera, the flash, proximity sensors, and the metal mesh earpiece. One thing to mention here is the non-backlit capacitive touch buttons. In our opinion, Asus should have made them backlit because in the dark we may not correctly guess the exact location of the buttons.

The Micro-USB port, a single speaker grill, and a microphone port are given at the bottom side of the device while a 3.5mm audio socket and secondary microphone on top. Looking at the back, there is nothing else to notice other than a good looking camera, a LED flash, and the beautiful Asus logo.

Overall, the Zenfone Live looks good, and no serious design defects are there. The only thing we noticed is nothing special about the design. But it is more than enough to carry on a royal party or to your friend’s wedding. Live will not let you down.

Asus Zenfone Live Display

A 5-inch display along with 2.5D glass with a curve on the edge is the short display specification of this device. It provides a clear, colorful viewing experience on the HD videos without even a shattering of the pixels. The IPS LCD display with HD (720p) power never made our videos look dull. The best thing we noticed about the display is that it is brighter in the sunlight when compared to the previous Asus models. If you are a social guy who often keeps going outdoors, the Asus Zenfone Live display will be your best choice.

The perfectly adjusted colors are beautiful enough to provide superior viewing quality to the images but still lacks something when compared to the competitors at this range. But you will be able to adjust the color tones as per your requirements using the display settings on the device.

There is a black border on the sides of the device which might not be that likely for few visitors. While the people are moving towards the edgeless smartphones, this border may look a little old. All in all, the display has nothing to curse about and is suitable for any kind of usage throughout the day either indoors or outdoors.

Asus Zenfone Live Performance

The hardware specs of the device include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM which is expandable upto 128GB. Only 10GB of ROM will be available for the users while the rest will be occupied by the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the usual Asus bloatware. We still didn’t understand the reason behind including all these bloatware again in their new devices. But, few users finding it useful.

The Live is powered by a 2,650mAh battery which is enough for the normal usage. Comparing with the pricing, the battery is good but may not suitable for the heavy gamers and video nerds. We were successfully able to continuously use our device while browsing, chatting, watching videos, texting, gaming, etc. for over 6 hours. It is not that bad actually.

In the audio section, the device comes with a mono 5-magnet loudspeaker which is loud enough to fill your room with music. We tested it using some awesome songs I the full volume. It never outputted an unbalanced sound or high amount of noise which clearly states the ability of the Asus Zenfone live to be used as a music listening device. In addition, it also comes with a pair of MEMS microphones to capture your voice in crystal clear clarity.

We tested the device for several hours, and the performance looks good for us. For a price tag of around Rs. 9999, it is more than enough.

Asus Zenfone Live Camera

In the camera department, there is a 13.0MP rear camera with features such as f/2.0 aperture and autofocus alongside a powerful flash. The 5.0MP front camera is also not that bad with the f/2/2 aperture, 82-degree wide angle and a LED flash. Both cameras are providing good pictures without any quality issues. Even in extreme lighting conditions, the cameras were able to capture adjusted images with good quality.

Like we previously mentioned, the Zenfone Live is made to make you look better in your live sessions on social medias. So, the camera software is fully equipped with numerous enhancements and auto-adjusting functionalities to make you look good. You can simply adjust them as per your preferences. In addition, Asus also included some capture modes such as ‘Children mode’ which automatically shoots a picture.

The videos also look good with the live beautification technology which adjusts the filters real-time to make you look good. There are no manual actions required to maintain this throughout your live sessions or the video recording session. Even at the low lighting conditions, the recording is stable, and enough light is preserved. Overall, the camera performance is good and nothing to mention as a con for this price range.

Verdict

Asus Zenfone Live is yet another worthy device from the company with a good performance, nice design, well-performing camera, and an affordable pricing. The device costs just around Rs. 9,999 and available on almost all online stores. After testing the device for several hours under different conditions, all we can say is that the device is worthy to be bought. It won’t disappoint you.
