How to Improve your Aim in PC Games

Improve Aim in PC Games

How many times did you miss your enemy in an online multiplayer battle? Probably countless times (Unless you are a pro in aiming.) But don’t worry anymore, we are going to tell you the secrets of those professional gamers who keep collecting rewards for the sharpness in their shots. If you ever wanted to be a pro like them, you can read this article and gain that power to win a headshot every time you play CS Go or any other shooting games of your dreams. These are the things that you can do to improve your aim in a PC game.

Get a Good Gaming Mouse

Mouse is the sword of a gamer. Well… sort of. If you want to aim correctly you should have the perfect mouse with the perfect buttons and perfect grip. There are several gaming mice available on the market with a lot of buttons and other stuff. But here, we are talking about the grip and the ease of usage that the mouse provides. When it comes to the FPS battles, it is not about the number of buttons the mouse has, but it is always about the precision each movement provides.

So, be sure that your gaming gear is top-notch to hit those enemy heads at the point. When you have a good gaming mouse, you are halfway done in the process of being a professional sharpshooter in any multiplayer shooting battle. A good mouse not only allows you to hit the target at the exact point, but will make it easier to look around, move throughout the game, and almost anything that you use the mouse for. So, do not hesitate to spend some dollars in purchasing a good gaming mouse.

When choosing a mouse, always look for the factors like a Palm grip, Comfortable design, Useful buttons, Good DPI, etc. You can go for a mouse with a DPI of 10,000+ if you are taking gaming very seriously. It will provide pixel perfect precision on your screen. Also make sure that the dimension, weight, and such factors are suitable for your needs. I recommend you to try out some of your friend’s devices and find the specifications of the most suitable mouse you found. Then go for a newer one which meets those specifications.

Adjust the Pointer Sensitivity

Once you have a great mouse, now it is the time to adjust the sensitivity of your pointer to what you feel comfortable. Many games provide their own controller sensitivity options, but some of them don’t. Even if they provide such options, it is always recommended to calibrate your mouse pointer sensitivity from the settings.

Just search for “Pointer” in the search box and choose “Change the mouse pointer display or speed” option. It will open a window like this.

Adjust your pointer speed and check the box saying “Enhance pointer precision” if it is not checked already. Now, try moving your mouse across the screen and you can notice the difference as you change the pointer speed. There are similar options in all the Operating systems. So, you can just google it for the steps on adjusting the mouse pointer sensitivity.

In addition to the default mouse properties, some companies provide their own settings window to calibrate the mouse for the best comfort. If you got a driver CD with your mouse, you should install it and go through all the settings in it and adjust it based on your requirements. If there is a separate CD like this, there is no need for calibrating your mouse using the default OS provided mouse settings.

Like we already told, many modern-day games provide mouse sensitivity options in their controller settings. So, if you are facing difficulties in moving around, shooting down a target, or taking aim, you should adjust that settings to meet your requirements.

Be sure to use the Ctrl or Shift

What does Ctrl or Shift do? In many FPS games, by default, any one of these keys allows you to stop the shaking effect by holding the breath of the character for a few seconds. Which means you will get a steady aim at your target without those moving effects. If you already didn’t tweak your settings, these keys will most probably do the trick. Also, crouching will help to have a little better view of the enemy and increase the precision of your mouse further.

Practice, Practice, and Practice

Practice makes you perfect. Even if you have the worst mouse in the universe or you didn’t even try to calibrate it, if you played a game for years, you will surely have some skills. You could still take down your enemy and move around the game like a pro. That’s the power of doing something over and over again. So, if you are seriously into gaming, practice it just like you are really wanted to be a pro in it. Who knows, you could even make a career out of gaming.

So, these are the things that we think you can do to improve your aim in PC games. Get a good mouse, calibrate and adjust it, use the in-game options, practice. That’s all you can do to be a better gamer by having a better aim. Hope you enjoyed the article. Now you can get back to those call of duty session and be a pro.
