One of the simplest ways to the definition of Cloud Computing is “Delivering of computing services such as servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, etc. over the internet.” Cloud provers are the company who are providing such services to the masses.
Cloud computing is mostly used by everyone daily, but we actually don’t know that it is known as cloud computing. If you have been using OneDrive, Google Servers, Google Photos, Google Drive, then all this is known as Cloud Computing. This has been popular because here you don’t have to put your money in actual resources and their maintenance. You just have to give a charge as you do for your water and electricity bills.
Cloud Computing is similar to the clouds, i.e. cloud here is meant to be virtual. As the servers, storage, databases are not with us and is available via a medium of a particular address hence it is known as Cloud. Such resources are meant to be backed up as if they fail all our information is gone. Cloud computing the value of the actual resource and its maintenance cost goes down by 60% which helps us to use better resources and higher amount of resources at the same pricing.
With Cloud Computing it is also possible to share the resources with many different peoples. This further helps us to distribute the cost and bring it down. Most of the services are moving on the cloud, and more and more people are relying on it instead of expending their resources. The first true cloud computing started with Amazon EC2 back in 2006, which is much earlier you must have thought.
Amazon does play a large role in popularizing the word cloud computing. The concept of cloud emerged from virtualization where actually the physical machine is split into different modules to be used. Cloud computing is the best when it comes to sharing resources and cost-cutting. Are you using Cloud computing for any of your use? If no do let us know in the comment below.
