iPhone Xs Max Review

Apple launched the all-new devices as the update this year. Although last year too Apple launched three devices as iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. This year Apple took the iPhone X and upgraded it to have three different devices as iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and the third one as a budget iPhone the iPhone Xr.

All the three iPhone looks identical to the iPhone X of last year, but there are still changes that we will talk in their respective reviews. Currently talking about the iPhone Xs Max, it is the largest iPhone we have seen in the history of Apple. Still, this iPhone feels sold and well built, although we will be talking much more about the same in detail.

Coming to the iPhone Xs Max it is a great device in looks and in performance, but is it according to your needs? And if it will suffice you’re extending needs for the next couple of years. Let us actually see if Apple has enough in the box for you or if they are still lagging behind and not offering the right offer for their users. Design & Build

iPhones have been known to have an iconic design and when it comes to a new iPhone size it is quite important for Apple to keep it proportionate as well as good looking. This is something that Apple has been quite successful to do.

Coming to the design language it has the same design which we saw with the all-new iPhone Xs. Still giving a brief look we have the dual camera setup with quad color flash in the between. This setup is placed on the left-hand side top of the device vertically and this is the design language all are mad upon.

On the front side, we get the same design with a full screen on the front with a notch which has all the different facial recognition sensors and an earpiece and a camera. Having the power button on to the right and volume buttons on to the left the phone happens to have the typical iPhone design which most of the people like the most.

On the front, we have Gorilla Glass 6 which is the best in class protector for the front glass unit. Even at the back, we have the same glass which makes sure that the rear unit also doesn’t get scratched easy enough so we have issues at a later stage. The frame of the phone is a stainless steel one and hence it is quite good looking and great to hold in hand. The overall phone looks good and we have a feel of a really good premium smartphone in hand.

Display

Talking about the major portion of the device, the Super AMOLED display which is a 6.5 inched unit comes with a resolution of 1242 x 2688 pixels these results into a pixel density of 458ppi and hence this becomes one of the sharpest displays today in the industry.

Being a 6.5 inched display it comes with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and this results into a screen to body ratio of 84.4% and is quite high for the phone. Apple has loaded the phone with a ton of different features which results in the display to be a great unit to watch movies, and even do the regular job of a mobile phone.

Apple has included the Dolby Vision tech which makes the display of the device compatible with HDR10 facility and hence improves the overall experience of the phone in terms of viewing. Another great feature is wide color gamut that the phone’s display usage making the display coming up with even better color combinations, there are 3D touch, true tone display and 120Hz touch sensing to improve the overall usability of the mobile phone.

When it comes to the real world usage the phone does have a good amount of saturation in the colors and this is all due to the different technologies that are working in order to create an immersive experience for you to use the device. At the same time, the phone does become big to use singlehandedly. The screen is legible in the daylight without any issue, and the same goes in the night time as it is an AMOLED panel and is surely going to be great.

Performance

Apple’s iPhone Xs Max comes with the same Apple A12 Bionic chipset which is manufactured on the 7nano meter technology. This is the first CPU from Apple to feature 6 different cores and is one of the most powerful hexacore chip in the market. Supporting the chipset is the quad-core Apple GPU which will be handling most of the graphics duty. Apart from these, there is 4Gigs of Ram and storage options ranging from 64 GB to 512GB.

All this results into the phone being a great product all due to the optimization of iOS. Earlier the 1GB Ram version of iPhone used to work fluently without any hiccup and even today they multitask like gliding on butter, hence iPhone Xs Max have benefit of all the 4 Gigs of RAM which is supporting the phone to be in the best of condition to do all the majority of tasks that can be done on the phone.

Talking about the games they work really great and doesn’t have any issues on the go, although do note that in future the VR games and AR games are for sure going to have issues on this but they are still a long way to go.

Camera

iPhone Xs Max comes with the same setup as it was on the iPhone Xs. It also has the same dual camera at the back which is both 12 MP each. One of the primary lenses happens to have an aperture of f/1.8 and is 26mm wide, while the secondary camera which is actually a telephoto lens at 52mm comes with an aperture of f/2.4. Both the rear camera comes with OIS which makes the phone a real deal. On the front, the phone comes with a 7MP camera which comes with f/2.2 aperture.

Images from the phone come out really good and have no issues in capturing images either in dark or in the daytime. When it comes to images in the dark the phone captures really great pictures which do not include any grain or any blurry effect, all this is due to the optical image stabilization. Images in the daytime come really great and are quite good as per current standards. iPhones have been known to carry the best in class camera and iPhone Xs Max does own one with proud.

Battery

iPhone Xs Max is loaded with a 3174 mAh battery which is more than sufficient on the phone to keep it running for over 16 hours which is the most time that a person uses the phone. In the day you might need to charge the phone once when you are gaming on the mobile phone. iPhone Xs Max just like the other iPhones launched this year comes with Qi Wireless Charging which makes the phone a really great deal for daily usage.

Verdict

iPhone Xs Max has been the best seller since it was launched, and have gained a lot of popularity in the large segment device, largely due to the Face ID verification which is far more secure than a fingerprint scanner.
