Today we will be talking about the all new Nokia 7.1 which is released just last month. Here we will be looking forward to the phone and decide if it will be able to get the best of performance and looks that everyone needs in this particular price range.

Design & Build

Nokia with the latest devices are moving forward to the notch system and even on the Nokia 7.1, we are observing the same notch that occupies the front camera, sensor, and an earpiece. The best about Nokia devices is their name on the bottom bezel of the phone.

Rest the phone have rounded corned edges on the display and same goes to the outer build too. Coming to the back of the device we have the glass at the back too. Talking about the components we have a dual camera setup at the back wherein the camera unit is placed vertically in the center, below that we get the Nokia branding, and at the bottom, we have the Android One branding.

The frame of the phone is built from Aluminium and we can easily find the Front and Rear Glass to be made up of Gorilla Glass 5. This makes sure that even if we drop the phone it can be protected from most of the cracks and scratches with ease.

Using the phone in daily usage is kind of easy, and is one of the best phones in 2018 to be used single headedly. Keeping all this in mind the in-hand feel of the all-new Nokia 7.1 is great and you can easily feel the premium feel of the phone when it is in your hand, even the other person can look towards the premium looks of the phone, and it does give you an upmarket feel.

Display

The all new Nokia 7.1 comes with an IPS LCD panel which is sized at 5.84 inches, as the panel is an IPS LCD one, you can be clear about the downside of the phone’s display. Coming to the resolution of the phone it is 1080 x 2280 pixels and these counts to 430+ PPI and hence at the end of the day, it is quite easy for us to view the ultra-sharp display without any issue.

Talking about the aspect ratio of the panel used it counts to 19:9 which is one of the tallest ratios that can be used on a mobile phone.

When you are using the phone in the real world you will surely notice the LCD – ness of the display and that is due to the dark grey that is visible in the day too. Rest a panel is a great unit and you can get really close to the phone and use it all the time as there is absolutely no reflection of the lights and this makes this phone a great device to look after videos and photos.

Coming to the daytime usage the display panel is bright enough to be used in the daytime, and during the night time, it is also visible that the display can get really dark and this makes sure that you can use the phone during the night time.

Performance

Nokia has equipped the Nokia 7.1 with the Snapdragon 636 SoC which is a mid-range chip from Qualcomm that will make sure that you are getting the best of performance from the phone.

Coming to the Graphics duty they are handled by Adreno 509 which is a powerful unit to carry on the day to day tasks. If you are a multi-tasker then there is 4GB or 3GB of RAM equipped to keep in mind about the different apps that are being loaded on to the phone.

When you are gaming on this particular phone, you will not be getting the spectacular performance that the devices of this range typically get, but you will be satisfied with the output for most of the part. Even games are optimized for this particular chipset, and coming to the daily performance that is meant to be great, and this is the case with the all new Nokia 7.1 and hence you will enjoy using the phone for normal use without any issue.

Camera

On the rear, we have got a 12MP rear sensor which is a primary one and hence comes with an aperture value of f/1.8 coming to the depth sensing unit it is a 5MP one and comes with an aperture value of f/2.4.

On the front, we have an 8 MP sensor which comes with an aperture value of f/2.0, the most important part is the 24mm wide lens that is on the phone, this makes sure that you are getting each and every person of your group in the selfie/groupfie. Another important feature of Nokia is using the Zeiss optics and that makes sure that the images you are capturing are the best and top of the line one.

In the real world the images are evident with the high saturation and popping colors, this doesn’t make the images to look artificial but they do look the best when coming out of the mobile phone. Anyone in the mobile industry will be fooled this to be captured by a top of the line flagship device.

Saturation and contrast on the phone fall on the right place, and you for sure will enjoy the capturing capability of the device. Coming to the day and night captured images both come to be great, but in totally dark the phone does lay behind for most of the part.

Battery

Nokia comes with a tiny 3060 mAh battery yes, this is a tiny one as for most of the part this battery will make sure that you are not having the phone with battery all the time. At least twice in the day, you will have to charge the device, and that is a for sure downside of the device.

At the end of the day when you are using the phone for normal telephone calls, you will have to charge the phone at the night when you are having dinner. If you are a gamer then you will need to charge during the half day break otherwise by the end of the day you will have a brick in your pocket.

Verdict

Usually, the phones from Nokia are a complete package, although they can be a bit on the costly side still they had to be a package. Same is the case with the all new Nokia 7.1 this device has the build, camera, display which is meant to be the best. It is the performance and battery where this device lacks.
