OPPO F11 Pro Review

OPPO F11 Pro Review

To be the best photographer in your squad, having good photography skills is the second most important thing you need, an amazing camera still tops the list. To give you the privilege of being the most loved camera person in the peer group and get the credits for all the good memories on your friends’ social media, Oppo comes to the rescue with its Oppo F11 Pro packed with motorized pop-up selfie camera as its key feature and dual rare camera at 48 + 5 MP. Priced at INR 25000, the Oppo F11 Pro recently became one of my favorite phones all for its camera sense.

Design and Display

As smartphone makers are competing over maximized screens it’s hard to find a display without screen cutters for the selfie camera. Well, there are some creative options making their way standing out of the crowd. The F11 Pro by Oppo comes with a motorized Pop-up Selfie Camera, which is magnificently placed right at the top middle of the phone, perfectly in line with the rare camera.

The phone has a stunning gradient finish on its back made of plastic but beats the other plastic body phones with is a glass-like glossy finish. The device seems durable and the glossy gradient look saves it from looking cheap. Hence, aesthetically the device flaunts some really high-end quality and specs.

The 6.53 inches tall display comes with minimum bezels and does not even cut through for the selfies camera, providing you an amazing experience of a full, uncompromised IPS LCD, 1080 resolution at 400 PPi screen. The HD resolution at 400 PPi makes the content look crisp with pretty deep blacks. The color accuracy of the device is set at average by default but provisions for improved warm aesthetics.

In line with the front and rare camera is the fingerprint sensor, accurately placed at the back of the phone. The device also comes with a face detector unlock system, which means that your phone comes to life as it sees you, Oh! Such a wonderful owner you are.

Sound System

There is a loudspeaker placed at the bottom of the phone. The speaker with its excellently rich and deep sound quality gives really good performance when played aloud. Completely complements your mood for the party. But it doesn’t seem to be a good company when you are in a more sophisticated and ‘keep to yourself’ kind of surroundings – listening to audio output through headphones, as the headphones when plugged into the 3.5 mm jack degrade the stereo quality quite a lot, loudness is also average. However, hey cheer up, the phone has an FM Radio, Haha!

Performance

The Android 9.0 (Pie) with Color OS on top of it looks different from the usual Stark Android. 64 /128 GB RAM, which is further expandable through the Hybrid SIM slot, gives the phone good storage space. Unfortunately, Oppo is still sticking to the age-old micro USB port, instead of the Type-C USB, on its mid-range phones. The device comes in handy and looks cool enough for the price that it offers.

The display is quite nice and swiping left on the home screen gives you access to a Smart Assistant Panel with quick access to Calendar feature, Step Tracker and space for shortcuts too. Also swiping from a bar from the right edge on the home screen opens a space for shortcuts too.

The device comes with a separate game space where you can store your heavy-duty games without affecting the speed and performance of the phone and another space for changing settings for performance and blocking notifications.

The phone is powered by Mediatek Helio P70 chipset, with a dedicated chip for area driven tasks. Performance is smooth, without any heating problems, games run well too – especially if you dedicate some time to treat their settings in the game space. 4000 mAh battery type makes it decently fast.

Gestures Feature on Oppo Phones

One of the most fascinating things about Oppo devices are the cool gestures provisioned by sensors on the phone. F11 Pro allows you to swipe up and hold on the active screen to see the background apps and app transition. Swiping up from bottom left or right functions as a back button and swiping up from the bottom middle brings you back to the home screen.

Camera

With its key feature pop-up camera, the phone doesn’t fail to amaze us with the picture expertise that the brand is famous for. Dual rare camera set up at 48 MP F 1.8 main camera with face detection – autofocus along with a 5 MP depth sensor and for portrait mode comes with 1080 pixels at 30 FPS. Due to the Quad bared technology the D4 output of the main 48 MP camera is 12 MP but the pictures just come out tremendous with good detailing, high dynamic range, lively and accurate colors, superb contrasts and overall very nice processing.

Talking along the Dazzle Color mode, it uses advanced image settings to improve the dynamic range further than HDR, it also adds some saturation to the colors but you lose some fine details. Another disappointment, like all the other phones in this range, is the hardly noticeable difference between the 12 and 48 MP camera mode. The 48 MP camera approach once again failed to impress us by being just an upscale of the 12 MP one with no improvement in detail.

Photos in the portrait mode are the most impressive, subject separation works very well, also transition from sharp to defocused sense are very smooth. With an F 1.8 lens, normal shots in low light come out brilliant, with balanced highlights and excellent contrasts. Ultra Night mode on the camera takes a few seconds to process the picture but gives you a brighter exposure, dynamic ranges and boosted contrasts and saturation.

The most favorite part of the phone, the motorized selfie camera is at 16 MP F 2.0 with 1080 pixel at 30 FPS. It does lack autofocus but does a decently good job to give you a beautiful smile while taking a selfie. The device has a video capability of 4K at 30 FPS, the dynamic range of video is average though but thanks to the high ray sensor that enables you to shoot video up to two times lossless zoom and the quality are at par with the regular 1080 pixel ones.

Having so much to explore, the camera feature of the phone is something astonishing to invest in. Oppo does prove itself to be not only a selfie expert but also a complete photography expert phone. For the best photographers in the group, who seek picture credits in all possible captions, this is the device you can use to literally impress your photo lovers.

Verdict

The device has performed admirably well in its innovative specs. All the new features that it brings income with ‘better than expected’ satisfaction. Although the regular features have not been upgraded much but the phone does highlight on the creativity part with the pop-up camera, a separate game space, amazing and easy gestures, glass look to a plastic body, mesmerizing gradient looks and double zoom video feature.

But despite that is the phone worth the price it claims? Well, you can actually get similar devices at a comparatively lower price if you are ready to compromise on some great features the phone has brought in.
