Now just like other things that google can do, among that is testing your internet speed. Remember the meme where it said, “Open Google to know if you are connected to the internet,” well, Google seems to have devised a fully-functional internet speed test application for this trick.
Google Speed Test feature
To know the speed of your internet, go to google.com or type “Speed test” if Google is set to be your default search provider. In search results, there will appear a card with a button saying “Run Speed Test.”
Hit the button “Run Speed Test,” and Google will start testing your internet speed. While it does that, you can see the results in real-time with an internet speedometer displayed during the test.
To obtain ideal results, eliminate all the background downloads or uploads if any. For folks on Wi-Fi, make sure no other device is connected to ensure that the results you get are accurate. A total of 40MB of data will be used while performing the test.
After the test is done, it will show you uploads and download speeds along with the server are connected to perform the speed test. You can even see the latency, which is helpful during online gaming. You can always choose to rerun the tests by clicking on ‘Test Again.’
