Apple had launched its first iteration of Apple AirPods a few years ago. Now, we all would agree that they were a huge hit since launch. Even today, Apple’s AirPods are the best selling truly wireless earbuds. Now, people have been loving the AirPods due to their convenience as well as light-weight. Also, it is worth noting that Apple AirPods are priced above Rs. 10,000 in India. Regardless of that, AirPods are selling like hot cakes in the country.
Now, it is expected from Apple to launch the AirPods 2 very soon. It was expected that Apple would launch them last year but the launch did not happen. Thus, people are highly anticipating the launch of AirPods 2 which will definitely be better than AirPods. According to earlier reports, we should expect the AirPods 2 to be launched by Apple in the first half of 2019. However, it is quite possible that the launch may be delayed to the second half of 2019.
So the Apple news. AirPods wireless charging will happen. It will be VERY fast (0-100 in 15 minutes.) That speed is for the AirPods AND the case. It will probably use Qi charging.

Now, a new leak regarding the Apple AirPods 2 has surfaced online. This leak comes from a known contributor of XDA Portal, Max Weinbach. He has claimed that the Apple AirPods 2 might come with super-fast wireless charging support. This will mean that Apple AirPods 2 will charge from 0-100 in just 15 minutes. Also, this includes charging of both the AirPods as well as its case.
Now, it is interesting to note that this wireless charging is likely to be Qi charging. Therefore, Apple will have to include Qi coils inside the Apple case. Thus, Max notes that the AirPods 2 case will be thicker as well as heavier from one side. This is most likely to be the side where AirPods 2 case needs to be placed on the Wireless charging pad. Rumours also suggest that Apple AirPods 2 will come in a Matte Black variant similar to its Apple iPhones starting from the iPhone 7.
