Apple Addresses the Butterfly Keyboard Mechanism Issue

Samsung and Apple Lawsuit is Coming To an End

For a long time, it is known about the issue with the latest generation MacBook Pros. They all were updated with the latest butterfly keyboards just like the 2015 MacBook. The new mechanism was not thoroughly tested, and in daily usage almost all the people started to address the issue with the new keys. Although the issue was good enough to hide for more than 3 to 4 years of rough usage.

Apple finally addressed the issues which their customer was facing with both the laptops. Usually, we get a year of warranty on the tech products but recently Apple changed the same. Only on Keyboards with butterfly mechanism, they are going to provide a warranty of 4 years.

“Today we launched a keyboard service program for our customers that covers a small percentage of keyboards in certain MacBook and MacBook Pro models which may exhibit one or more of the following behaviors: letters or characters that repeat unexpectedly or don’t appear when pressed or keys that feel ‘sticky’ or aren’t responding in a consistent manner,” Apple said in a statement to 9to5 Mac.

You can head to any authorised Apple service center and they are going to cover all the eligible device for a period of 4 years from the date of purchase. Also if you are worring about your money if you have paid earlier for the repair, then you can claim a 100% refund for the cost of service.

The repair programs covers the following laptops:

Although still, it is not clear if the customers are going to get a new re worked version of the keyboard or the same old keyboard being used on their MacBook.
