Apple finally announced a whole lot of new things at its March 25 event. Right at the start, Apple’ Tim Cook mentioned that today’s event will be all about services. Exactly as mentioned, the event was all about services. Apple announced a whole lot of services at the event. Among these services, Apple announced a premium plan for its Apple News services. This service has been named as Apple News+ by the company. Apple News+ will have magazines which you can read by paying a monthly subscription.

As announced by Apple, its News+ service will have more than 300 magazines at launch. Also, more magazines are expected to be added in this service soon. Apple says that if you subscribe to these magazines individually, it will cost you over $8000. But with Apple News+, you can get it for $9.99 per month or $120 per annum. At the moment, we do not know if Apple will release an annual plan which costs less than its monthly plan*12. As there was no announcement about it yesterday, we do not see the company releasing such a plan.

Apple says that the magazines in News+ plan will be curated, high quality and trustworthy. Apple says that the focus with its News+ subscription plan is on trust which is essential for news. Apple says that News+ is the only service where you can read magazines such as The New YorkerEsquireThe AtlanticNational GeographicMen’s Health, and Vogue all in one place.

The Verge reports that Wall Street Journal will be soon added on Apple News+. However, an internal memo reads the publication will only add “a specially curated collection of general interest news from The Wall Street Journal”. Apple has released its News+ service already in the US and Canada whereas more countries will get the service soon.
