Apple has told its customers that they should stop using its wall plugs. The company says that its wall plugs may give electric shock to users. Also, the company has recalled this plugs as they were found to be faulty. Now, the faulty plugs are not at all new. Apparently, these faulty plugs are the ones that Apple shipped with its iPhone and Mac products from 2003 to 2010. These are the three-prong AC wall plugs which have been listed in Apple’s voluntary recall and exchange program.

These wall plugs were also listed in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit during the same period. Now, they have been found to be faulty and have been recalled for safety reasons by Apple. At the same time, Apple says that in “very rare cases”, its wall adapters may break and give an electric shock to the users. Thus, it is better to stop using them to avoid damage due to its usage.

On Apple’s website, the company notes that “Because customer safety is a top priority, Apple is asking customers to stop using affected plug adapters,”. Also, the company is exchanging those plugs for free but you need to verify your system’s serial number with that available on Apple’s database.

Talking about the safety issues, Apple says that it is aware of at least six worldwide which caused issues to users using this plugs. However, the company has avoided giving any more information regarding this incidents, what damage did it cause and where did it take place.

Also, Apple says that they are not aware of any more incidents due to its plugs at the moment. It is good to see that Apple is offering to exchange its faulty plugs which were sold almost a decade ago. However, it has become common nowadays for company to do this as it could have serious implications for the company’s reputation.
