We have known that the software developers, and eventually the hardware developers too, get hyped up when there is a new version of iOS or Android. Same is the case right now as the latest version of iOS has been released in beta version. This is iOS 12 which was announced at the WWDC18 which is Apple’s annual developer conference same as Google I/O. At the WWDC, Apple announced that the first developer preview of the iOS 12 will be released later today but you need to have a developer account to download that version of iOS. This is done to limit the users testing iOS 12 to the iOS developers only.
Now, Apple has released the first iOS 12 public Beta 1 to its users yesterday. This update is open to the public and users don’t need developer’s account in order to download the file. This first update is for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models. Now, you can officially get iOS 12 on your iPhones. It is also interesting to note that Apple has pledged support for iOS 12 all the way down to Apple iPhone 5S as well which was released many years ago. The same can not be said about Android’s latest updates sadly due to various reasons.
Talking about iOS 12 Public Beta 1, we can test out the various new features announced by Apple at WWDC now. This includes Facetime for Groups which was not available earlier, surprisingly. Also, there is now a feature on iPhone which shows how much time you spend on any particular app so that you can limit usage to that app. Apart from that, the company also announced grouped notifications which got the loudest cheers at the conference. To download the iOS 12 Public Beta 1, you just need to enroll your device at Apple’s official public beta website. If your device is eligible, you will get an OTA update automatically.
