Apple will reportedly change the way its beta testing is done after iOS 13’s buggy debut

iOS 13 bugs

We have already reported about the launch of Apple’s latest iPhone 11 series phones including the iPhone 11 Pro series too. Along with that, we know that the latest version of iOS has also been released which is named as iOS 13. Also, we are aware that the beta version of iOS 13 was available for testing since the WWDC 2019. Therefore, we cannot say that Apple did not get enough time to iron out the bugs. But ever since iOS 13 has launched for the public, the OS is marred with bugs and Apple is scrambling to push updates every week almost.

This shows that there was something wrong in the beta testing process of iOS 13. Also, it might be possible that something happened between the last beta version of iOS 13 and stable release that changed everything on its head. While this scenario is unlikely, it cannot be ruled out. But we can also say that the bug reporting for iOS 13 beta was not as good. Now that Apple has finally managed to stabilize iOS 13 with the launch of iOS 13.2.3, we hear reports of the company changing its beta testing process.

As reported by Bloomberg, Apple knows that its iOS 13 release has been far from stable this year and they want to change that with the release of iOS 14. For this reason, it is also revealed that Apple considered launching iOS 13.1 as its stable release rather than iOS 13. The report also mentions that Apple engineers knew iOS 13 would not meet the quality standards of iOS 12’s public release. Therefore, they focused on working for the iOS 13.1 update rather than iOS 13 which was left as it is. Apple also expected iOS 13 to be installed only by “die-hard Apple fans” but since a majority of people installed it, bugs were faced by a majority of iPhone users until the word spread to wait for the next update and not upgrade just yet.
