The arrival of the first commercial offers with 5G is close, both here in India and in other countries. And before the corresponding services are launched, we already heard the arrival of 5G smartphones from several manufacturers. Smartphone giants like Samsung, Huawei, have announced them for 2019. And so has Xiaomi, with a special version of his Mi Mix 3 recently introduced. But what about Apple? At the moment, officially, Apple has not talked about 5G iPhone, but we have the first information.
In addition to those we mentioned previously, LG and OnePlus have also talked about their first 5G flagship phones for the next year 2019; and it is expected that Motorola will launch a ‘mod’ that provides this connectivity with new generation mobile networks in the Z3. But Apple seems to be arriving later than the bulk of the market. It is clear that at some point they will have to get the first iPhone with 5G, but the question is when, and Fast Company has released details in a recent report, pointing to the year 2020.
Intel chips can be seen in Apple’s 5G iPhone
Fast Company assures that Apple plans to launch its first 5G iPhone by the year 2020. And it is foreseeable that it will be during the month of September, as always, when it is presented and launched on the market.
On the other hand, that Intel will be the only company that is responsible for putting the technology, the 5G connectivity modem for these first smartphones from Apple with support for 5G. Obviously, this has to do with the problems between Apple and Qualcomm.
The Cupertino firm is waiting for Intel’s 8161 chip to solve some of the energy and temperature problems that Intel’s previous modem has. If these dates are met, Apple would be late. Not only with respect to other manufacturers but also with respect to the first commercial offers in several countries in which they operate. By September 2020, there should already be a variety of offers with 5G connectivity.
