Last year, we saw Asus made a lot of buzz in the smartphone industry when they introduced their latest flagship smartphones to the market in their Zenfone lineup. Asus’s Zenfone 6 series got launched last year and the USP of these phones were its flippable cameras. Last year, everyone was trying to introduce something new to their phones such as a pop-up camera as well as flipping camera and even Oppo introduced a shark-fin camera. This year, we have seen that most of those innovations have gone silent and companies have returned to normalcy with punch-hole cameras or notches.
However, Asus has chosen a different path and have retained their flipping cameras from last year. In fact, the Taiwanese company has made its flipping mechanism even better and have introduced a third camera sensor to this mechanism too. Yes, you will now be able to use three rear cameras as well as triple selfie cameras too. Because these are the cameras you will have on the device for both front and back usage.
Along with that, Asus has followed the trend and introduced a 90Hz refresh rate display on the device along with a fast-charging solution as well. It is also worth noting that the flipping camera makes for a very nice looking set up at the front. Since there is no camera visible while the selfie mode is not enabled, you will have an edge-to-edge bezel-less view and can bring the selfie camera to the front when you need it.
On top of that, you now have an OLED panel instead of the LCD panel from last year which was a bummer, to be honest and made people wait for other devices in the same price range. This year though, things are looking different from Asus and the phone promises to do well in the market.
