Asus unveiled the ZenWatch 3 at IFA, 2016. This is an Android Wear smartwatch. There are not many Android Wear based smartwatches in the market. Even the new releases are happening very rarely. So, the Zenfone 3 smartwatch attracted all the gadget fans.
The first thing coming to everyone’s mind is Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor which is newly developed by Qualcomm to be used in the Android wears and other smartwatches. This is definitely increased the reliability of performance in smartwatches.
Unlike the ZenWatch 2, this new ZenWatch 3 has a beautiful design. Asus opted for a circular dial to enhance the look into a great experience. The body of the dial is made of 316L Stainless Steel. It has three physical watch buttons for handling the functions. The crown button is as usual the basic one which carries the regular Android Wear functions. Out of the remaining two, one button is customizable and the other is to launch the ZenFit activity tracking app.
The display of the dial is made of 360 degree AMOLED with 1.39 inches screen. The resolution is about 400 x 400 pixels. The display of the dial is protected by a curved gorilla glass. The thickness is much better in ZenWatch 3 compared to other popular smartwatches from Apple and Huawei.
Coming to the hardware specifications, ZenWatch 3 features Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of Internal Storage and 341mAh battery. The hyper charge technology in this smartwatch can fill 60percent of the battery from zero, in just 15 minutes. ZenWatch 3 got IP67 water resistance certification.
Asus promised that their new tracking system enables to produce the tracking reports with 95% accuracy. After all this, there is a feature missing in ZenWatch 3. That missing feature is Heart Rate Scanner. Asus says ZenWatch 3 will be available in Germany and US from October, with the price tags of €229 and $255.
