With BLUBOO gearing up to launch the first rugged smartphone, the India-based Caterpillar has gone one step ahead by launching the rugged CAT S60 Rugged phone with an integrated thermal camera sensor manufactured by FLIR. With accurate cuttings in corners, the phone features navigation buttons clearly and the logo appearing on the top left side.
If you think you can snatch the phone for a low price, then you are wrong. You will have to pay $1000 (Rs. 64999) to purchase CAT S60 Rugged phone, which will be sold exclusively via Amazon India. Moreover, the phone will be available via retail stores across India from March 17. When compared to other markets like China, the phone is priced heavily.
Showcased at the recently concluded MWC 2017, the CAT S60 Rugged smartphone features a thermal camera on the rear. Caterpillar has established a strategic partnership with Bullitt Group to make use of the CAT brand.

The highlight of CAT S60 Rugged smartphone is its ability to detect heat loss across the doors and windows. Moreover, the phone will be able to spot the amount of moisture accurately.
If you have any device with missing insulation, the handset will detect automatically including the capability to identify the electrical equipment, which overheats abnormally.

While the rear camera is equipped with a 13MP FLIR thermal module alongside dual LED flash, the front-facing shooter offers 5MP snapper paired with f/2.4 aperture. While regular phones will offer a battery of 4000mAh, the CAT S60 device gets power from the integrated 3800mAh battery. Because of the rugged look and feel, the weight of the phone is 223 grams.
