Everything you need to know about the OnePlus 8 series

OnePlus 8 series

OnePlus 8 series

OnePlus is launching its latest flagship smartphones in the OnePlus 8 series very soon. According to some reports, the launch was scheduled for mid-March but it has been delayed a month due to COVID-19. This means that we will see the launch of the OnePlus 8 series by mid-April at an online-only event.

At the moment, we also know that there will be not one or two but three phones launching in the OnePlus 8 series. These phones will be the OnePlus 8 Lite, the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro.

OnePlus CEO has already announced that all the phones will be 5G capable. As the name suggests, OnePlus 8 Lite will be the entry-level smartphone in this series which might have a 5G-capable MediaTek SoC rather than a Qualcomm one. However, the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will have the Snapdragon 865 processors.

It is also being said that the OnePlus 8 Pro will have a 120Hz display along with AMOLED panel and Quad HD resolution. For the OnePlus 8, we will still have a 120Hz refresh rate but it will have an FHD AMOLED panel.

At the back, the OnePlus 8 Lite will have dual cameras while the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will have triple and quad cameras respectively. However, it is worth noting that the fourth camera on OnePlus 8 Pro will be a ToF sensor.

Coming to the front, all these devices will have a punch-hole camera where the OnePlus 8 Lite will have a centre selfie camera while the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will have left-sided camera setup.

Recently, a photo of OnePlus 8 Pro was also “leaked” in which Robert Downey Jr. can be seen holding the phone in his hands. For those who are unaware, OnePlus signed RDJ for their brand promotion last year with the OnePlus 7 series. It is expected that the OnePlus 8 series will launch on April 14 but we will know about it very soon.
