Facebook is redesigning Facebook.com as well as its iOS and Android app

Facebook.com redesign

Facebook.com redesign

We know that the social media giant, Facebook, has not had the best of times from few years. Ever since the data scandal of Cambridge Analytica was unearthed, nothing has gone smooth for Facebook. We report about new data leaks and privacy issues emerging out of Facebook almost every month. Therefore, at its F8 Developer Conference, Facebook needed to announce something for a change.

As a part of this change, Facebook has announced that it will be redesigning its website. Not only that, Facebook’s app for iOS and Android are also going to be redesigned. The company has announced that its app redesign is already rolling out to both its iOS and Android users immediately. But the redesign of Facebook.com which is expected to be its biggest yet will take some time.

There has been no specific timeline given as to when this redesign will come into effect but it should take a couple of months. Now, we see that Facebook has moved away from its Iconic Blue accent with its redesign. Now, the apps, as well as its website, are mostly white with a Facebook logo which is the only blue part. Also, there is lots of white space on the redesigned Facebook website which we saw in a sneak peek given by the company.

Facebook Redesign

Already, people have started to give feedback regarding the proposed redesign to Facebook and we are likely to see some changes to it once it comes into action. Also, the focus with this redesign is clearly on the Stories feature of Facebook. With this, the company is encouraging its users to post more stories to get noticed. However, we believe that the content shown on Facebook.com after this website is too little. On the homepage, you can only see a single post without scrolling which is a classic example of wasted space.
