There have been attempts by Facebook to clone Snapchat as much as it can with the Instagram app. We have seen that the Stories feature first seen on Snapchat was copied by Facebook. Now, we know that the feature has been a viral hit and is being used by millions on the platform.
However, there are several other features which have been copied by Facebook and added to Instagram as well. But at the same time, we can also say that Instagram has had a unique touch to it as well.
Now, that could not be the case anymore as we have reports coming in that Facebook is working on a new app. This app is named as ‘Threads’ internally and is currently being tested. This app from Facebook is as close as it gets to Snapchat.
It can also be said that this is a replica of Snapchat but just that it is developed by Facebook. First of all, this app is focused on messaging which connects to your Instagram profile. Basically, you can chat inside this app with your closest friends only. Also, you can share your status, send photos to all your close friends at once and do a lot more things.
If you have ever used Snapchat, this is exactly what the app lets you do as well. Snapchat also lets you send a photo to all your contacts at once. However, ‘Threads’ app from Facebook is still focused on messaging and lets you see who is online with a green dot.
While Facebook has declined to comment on this app’s development and testing, media personnel have already received photos of this app. However, they have not received screenshots which means that they have not been shared due to identification issues. Facebook, however, is testing this app internally and we might hear from them soon.
