Finnish smartphone maker Nokia might launch its Nokia 8.2 on December 5 globally

Nokia 8.1

Nokia 8.1

We have seen that the traditional smartphone companies of the past have been fading away quietly while newcomers are making their mark in the industry. While there is nothing wrong in such a transition, we still feel nostalgic when seeing phones from brands that we used to cherish in the past. One such company is Nokia which was as big as Apple is right now, about a decade ago. However, Nokia’s decline was the fact that it went with Microsoft’s mobile platform rather than Google’s Android. Nokia also said that they will never use Android on their devices.

But as they say, time and tide wait for none and same was the case even with Nokia which was slowly slipping away from its No. 1 phone maker position in the industry. Eventually, the Windows Phone platform failed due to minimal app support and Android became extremely popular at the same time. Similarly, Nokia also failed to make smartphones as it was adamant on not using Android and there was no other option left for them. Coming back to the present, HMD Global revived Nokia brand a few years ago and they have been making phones under the Nokia brand name ever since.

Also, Nokia has adopted Android OS to the point that all their phones have Stock Android based on Android One program. Thus, it is guaranteed that all Nokia phones will have the latest Android updates and features. We now have a report which says that a new Nokia smartphone dubbed as the Nokia 8.2 is releasing next month. This will be the successor to Nokia 8.1 which was released last year and the Nokia 8 series is also the company’s flagship smartphone every year. At the moment, we only know that the Nokia 8.2 might have a 4G and 5G variant so it might be powered by the Snapdragon 735 processor which has 5G support. This will mean, however, that it will not come with the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm which is a bummer.
