First sustainable city on Mars might be built in 20 years says Elon Musk

We have seen that people are researching a lot when it comes to Mars. There have been several attempts made at this point for reaching Mars as well as seeing if life is possible on the Red planet.

One of the biggest roadblocks even if humans reach Mars is that there is no proper Air and Water availability. There have been signs found that there was water earlier on Mars thanks to residues of River flowing. However, there is no presence of Water at the moment or at least it has not been found.

It is observed that any human can survive on any planet with Water and Air. However, if those two basic needs are not present then it is hard for anyone to sustain. But we have a new statement from Elon Musk who is also the CEO of SpaceX. SpaceX, if you are not aware is a rocket company/startup which builds spaceships and also plans to send humans to space and also on Mars.

Elon Musk reveals that he thinks it is possible to build a sustainable city on Mars in about two decades time. However, he also gives us an estimate of the resources needed to do the same. He says that 1000 starships from SpaceX will be needed in order to build a sustainable city on Mars in order to carry things to and fro from Earth.

Now, we know that it also seems a fantasy to carry things from Earth to Mars-like we do from one country to another on a regular flight. However, this might be possible in the next 20-30 years.

Now, some say that Elon Musk’s estimates are too ambitious since there is no plan at the moment of how to build a sustainable planet on Mars. While Elon says that it will take 20 years to build a sustainable city on Mars, we feel that it will be more like 50 years to do so if at all.
