Fortnite Surpasses $100M Revenue Figure in just 90 days on iOS

Epic Games, the gaming company, released a game called Fortnite for Android and iOS earlier this year. Ever since its release on iOS, Fortnite has become massively popular. Talking about the game’s popularity, it has achieved yet another milestone on iOS platform. According to a report by Sensor Tower, Fortnite has crossed $100 million in revenue on iOS alone. Also, interesting is the fact that this figure has been achieved in just 90 days or 3 months. Yes, it has barely been a quarter of a year since Fortnite was made available on iOS.

Talking more about the popularity of Fortnite, this game from Epic Games’ has become the second fastest in its category on iOS to reach this milestone. Interestingly, the fastest ever game to achieve this milestone is Clash Royale. Epic Games’ Clash Royale achieved the $100 million revenue mark in just 51 days. Apart from that, it is interesting to note that Fortnite was kept invite-only in its first 12 weeks. This is also believed to be the reason that it took more time to achieve this revenue figure. It is still a huge achievement nonetheless.

As far as Fortnite’s closest competitor is concerned, it is a game called PlayerUnknown’s Battleground. This game was made available on iOS just a few days after Fortnite was released. However, if the reports are to be believed then PUBG has significantly lower revenue than Fortnite. Sensor Tower has made an estimate that PUBG has made just $5.2 million in revenue on iOS in 60 days. One of the reasons for PUBG’s much lower revenue is because the developer has not found an optimal monetization strategy. In terms of popularity, Fornite and PUBG are believed to be on par though. Also, there are rumors that Fortnite from Epic Games will be released soon on Android so we should expect to see more and more rise in revenue for Fortnite.
