Currently, Google I/O 2019 is taking place in the US. This is the event or developer conference where Google announces what it will release this year. Similar to every year previously, the I/O 2019 also started with a keynote. This keynote was given by Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

However, the new part about this keynote was that there was a hardware announcement for the first time ever. At this year’s keynote, Google announced products such as Google Nest Max with a camera. The attention of everyone, however, was on the launch of the Google Pixel 3a series.

This is the ambitious new series launched by Google in its Pixel lineup. However, we must add that this series will not break your bank. As it is launched as a mid-range series rather than a premium one. Having said that, Google says that Pixel 3a series has the same camera as their Pixel 3 series. This means that you don’t get compromises on the camera even at half the price.

But the compromises come in build quality. As Pixel 3a is built with polycarbonate instead of glass. Apart from that, Pixel 3a and 3a XL have a 5.6-inch and 6.1-inch full HD+ OLED display respectively. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 670 processor and comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. For the camera, we have a 12.2 MP rear lens and an 8MP selfie camera.

All the magic, however, happens with Google’s software. This makes the Pixel 3, and now Pixel 3a too, the best smartphone cameras in the market. You also get a 3000 mAh and 3700 mAh battery with 18W fast charging for Pixel 3a and 3a XL respectively.

Coming to its pricing, Pixel 3a is a great buy for you in the US at $399. However, the Indian pricing for this device is Rs. 39,999 which is more than even the OnePlus 6T or the upcoming OnePlus 7. For the Pixel 3a XL, you will need to spend just $479 in the US whereas, in India, it will cost you Rs. 44,999.
