Nokia 8.1

HMD Global has been launching plenty of new smartphones under the Nokia branding since last year. Now, the company has launched another smartphone in the Nokia lineup. This latest device from Nokia is the Nokia 8.1. This is the successor to the Nokia 8 which was launched as flagship smartphone in Nokia lineup last year. This time around, Nokia 8.1 is not going to be the company’s flagship smartphone. This spot will be taken by Nokia 9 which will be launched soon

The Nokia 8.1 comes with a 2.5D glass construction along with an aluminium unibody design on the sides. There is a presence of AI on the cameras of Nokia 8.1 for better processing in order to extract the best out of the cameras. Also, Nokia claims that Nokia 8.1 has the best cameras in its price segment. Now, this is a big claim to make and we will know about it in the near future. The Nokia 8.1 has a 6.2-inch display which has a notch and the aspect ratio of this display is 18.7:9. However, the display is an IPS LCD one and not an AMOLED panel.

This display supports HDR 10 playback, however, which is a great feature to have. This makes the display of the Nokia 8.1 punch out colours. The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC and has Kyro 360 CPU and Adreno 616 GPU. The Nokia 8.1 also comes with 6GB of LPPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. This device has a hybrid slot so you can place a SIM and microSD or two SIM cards at the same time.

The cameras of Nokia 8.1 are a 20MP front camera and a 12MP + 13MP camera on the back. The device has 3500 mAh non-removable battery and supports fast charging too. Nokia 8.1 is priced at EUR 399 which is approximately Rs. 32000 in INR. However, we don’t know the official pricing of Nokia 8.1 in India so we will have to wait.
