HTC has just announced a new smartphone for its loyal fans. This news is interesting as HTC announced that they are going out of smartphone business. However, contradictory reports claimed that HTC will focus on mid-range smartphones. Exactly in line with those reports, HTC is back with another mid-range offering. This time, the smartphone launched is the HTC Desire 12s. This is the upgraded version of HTC Desire 12 launched earlier.

Now, it is fair to say that HTC Desire 12s is not a major upgrade to the HTC Desire 12. However, there are still some bits and pieces of upgrades added here and there. Now that the HTC Desire 12s is official, we can tell you about all the upgrades. First of all, the HTC Desire 12s now has a 5.7-inch LCD display along with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. This means that the device can have an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 2.5D curvature. Along with that, the device is now powered by Snapdragon 435 processor. This time around, the Desire 12s has 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB internal storage options. On the performance side, the HTC Desire 12s has four cores clocked at 1.4 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.1 GHz

HTC desire 12s has a mono camera setup on the back and front. On the back, the device has a 13-megapixel shooter with LED flash. Similarly, it has a 13-megapixel camera on the front assisted with LED flash. As always, the HTC Desire 12s runs Sense UI based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Regarding the Android Pie update for HTC Desire 12s, there is no word from HTC yet.

As for the battery of HTC Desire 12s, the device has a 3075 mAh non-removable battery. There is also no official confirmation regarding fast charging but the price has been known. In Taiwan, HTC Desire 12s is available for NT$ 5,990 and NT$ 6,990 for 3GB and 4GB RAM variants respectively.
