One upon a time, HTC was believed to be the best smartphone manufacturer as it produced hits after hits every year. Now, the company was never known as an affordable brand but it was seen as a premium manufacturer. But HTC started to produce smartphones that were under par for the flagship segment which made them fall away from the competition.

Eventually, the company decided to leave the smartphone business and started focusing on other ventures. One of those ventures was the cryptocurrency market and HTC released smartphones once again for that reason. But these smartphone in the HTC Exodus series were capable of running Bitcoin nodes.

If you are someone who is interested in the cryptocurrency market and want a phone to store your entire ledger, HTC’s Exodus 1s is the one for you. Talking about full Bitcoin node running capabilities, the smartphone can validate and transmit Bitcoin transactions independent of a centralized third-party. Therefore, if you have this phone then you don’t need to buy and sell Bitcoins from exchanges such as Zebpay and others as you can do it directly on your phone.

HTC says that the Exodus 1s will let you run “your own decentralized bank out of your pocket”. While this is a bold statement, we can say that this is true for Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. However, if you look at the HTC Exodus 1s from perspective of a daily driver then it might not be capable enough. Because the smartphone has a 5.7-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 435 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage only.

But we can see that HTC is clearly targetting this smartphone for people interested in the cryptocurrency trading and who already have a primary phone for other purposes. The price of HTC Exodus 1s is also good for a secondary device as it is available for €219 and will be available in Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and UAE.
