Huawei is known to be one of the world’s leading companies when it comes to innovation. We have seen that the company is not afraid of trying new things. Also, they have sincerely admitted their mistakes when they have been made as well.

Now, we know that Huawei is highly optimistic but an even optimistic comment has come about from their CEO. Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei, in an interview, said that his company is already working on the 6G technology. While this news is great, we are left to feel that this is nothing but a simple way to flex for Huawei and its CEO.

We are saying this because it is a fact that 5G technology is currently available in less than 5% of the world which means it is nowhere near being implemented by the majority of the world. At the moment, you would only find 5G networks in the US, UK, and China.

So it is worth mentioning that the 5G technology needs to go mainstream first before we even think about 6G. And it is also estimated that 5G’s rollout could take another 4-5 years in order to cover major parts of the world.

So even if we get 5G networks in the next 5 years, it is worth mentioning 6G will take another 5 years for doing so. In all fairness, Huawei CEO also admitted to this fact as he said that their work is currently in “early-stage” which means they are only testing the network.

Also, he revealed that 6G could take another 10 years of work to even get in the trial phase. Huawei’s CEO also mentions that their current focus remains on the implementation of 5G network for their smartphones. We are also not aware what 6G brings to the table in terms of data speeds, advantages, and other factors.
