Huawei announced the launch of the Honor 8 in India on October 12th. The device was launched in the US in this August.The 12.0 MP dual shooter is the main eye catcher on the smartphone more focusing on the camera efficiency as well as the performance. As we’ve seen in any Huawei models, the camera may be the key feature of this device also. The Leica branding of the camera adds more trust on the device in the user’s mind. It is also coming with the features like Laser auto-focus and dual LED flash.
Having a quick look at the specs, the Honor 8 is equipped with a 5.2-inch FHD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The fingerprint sensor on the backside gives a unique feel to the smartphone. Precisely curved edges also add to the good looking design. But we feel like the design has nothing special to notice other than a well engineered one.
Under the hood, the device running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallows OS with the support of some extra hardware. An octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor enhances the processing capability while the Mali-T880 MP4 GPU boosts the gaming capability. There are two RAM and storage variants are available. One with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM and the other one with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. The storage is expandable upto 256GB as per the user’s requirements. Even though, it does not add any extra heaviness for this 153g smartphone.
It is priced $400 (Rs. 26,600) for the 32GB variant and $450 (Rs. 30,000) for the 64GB variant as per the US rate. The prices will be almost similar in India also.
