After months of waiting for the latest Huawei flagship, it’s all I can do not to sing the Nunc dimitis and break into a waltz. The new Huawei heavyweight work of art is definitely worth all our adulation and worship. Except that, you might have to sell off your car to buy it.

The Mate 9 was today -Thursday – launched in Munich rather than any other small stages. An oh goody goody, most of the rumored specs have indeed proved true. Chief of which is the Leica branded dual camera setup which promises an epic battle/showdown with the likes of Samsung and Apple. The dual cameras are a 20MP monochrome sensor coupled with a 12MP RGB sensor, both with f/2.2 apertures. The rear cameras feature optical image stabilization, Hybrid zoom, dual-tone LED flash and a 4-in-1 Hybrid Autofocus system with contrast, depth, laser, and phase detection. The front shooter is an 8Mp camera with f/1.9 aperture.

Under the expansive hood, you get 64Gb of internal storage expandable to 256GB via an SD card. The battery is a 4000 mAh ogre with a supercharge tech supposed able to deliver a full day worth of usage after just 20 minutes of charging.

The screen itself is an incredible 5.96-inch full HD with that hits all the right spots and more with a fingerprint sensor adorning the back. A Kirin 960 octa-core SOC with four Cortex A-73 that sprints at 2.4GHZ and four additional Cortex A-53 cores that waddles at 1.8GHZ makes the world go by. The GPU is the Mali-G71 MP8 married to a beefy 4GB of RAM, while the OS is the chocolatey-sweet Android 7.0 Nougat with some Huawei customization.

Colors? Black, Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Ceramic White and Mocha Brown, with all sounding and looking good enough to eat.

Availability? Most of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East in the first wave with the rest of the globe to follow soon after.

Price? 699 Euros, which is around Rs. 51,600. And if you manage not to like this particular phone, and even more higher speced, higher priced and limited edition model called the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 with a 1,395 Euro price tag is lusting for you and your poor aching wallet.
