A 4G version of the iBall Slide Brace-X1 has just been launched in India. It’s conveniently priced at a reasonable Rs. 17, 999 and currently available at most retail stores countrywide. Bronze Gold is the only flavor of the month it comes in, so prepare to get goldly groovy.

While the original iBall Slide Brace-X1 was successfully launched early last year, it sadly lacked 4G features. This new version therefore bravely sets out to remedy the limitations of its predecessor. It is a considerable improvement and redesign of the original iBall, sporting better and heftier cameras, coupled with the taste of the Android Marshmallow. Like its popular elder sibling, it comes with a kickstand to kick your life and fun times into high gear. And a 10.1-inch multi-touch capacitive IPS display that shows off a highly respectable 1280 x 800 pixels. Its 6-packs consists of a 1.3GHZ octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor with 2 GB of RAM and a Mali T720 GPU. Internal storage and baggage is 16GB, with the option of further expanding that via SD card to 64GB. Battery juice is a 7800 mAh non-removable monster reputed capable of all day heavy usage. It additionally sports an 8MP back camera and a 5MP selfie shooter. Its twin-chambered speakers according to the manufacturer provide a “theatrical experience”.

The iBall is not for just watching music videos either as it supports voice calling via dual sim cards. Though using such a large device to place calls must be an epic sight. Other connectivity extras include: VOLTE, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM, micro USB with OTG support and the ability to support-read/write- up to 21 different Indian languages. It also comes helpfully bloated with useful apps and games you can’t help but love like the Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Not to mention Facebook and oh yes Whatsapp. Together with some drool-worthy games like Modern Combat 4 Zero Hour,  Asphalt Nitro among others.

Should you buy it? In a word, Yes. At the price and with the features listed its an absolute steal.
