iPhone 15 Pro May Feature Titanium Frame and Reduced Bezels

Apple is preparing to launch its latest iPhone 15 series this year, with interesting upgrades expected for the iPhone 15 Pro models. However, these enhancements could potentially lead to a price increase.

As per Mark Gurman’s newsletter on Bloomberg, the iPhone 15 Pro models are likely to feature slimmer bezels than their predecessors, thanks to a new production technology known as ‘low-injection pressure over-molding (LIPO). This technology, previously used in the Apple Watch Series 7, is expected to reduce the bezels around the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max displays to approximately 1.5 mm, down from the current 2.2 mm.

In an attempt to reduce weight, Apple is considering replacing the stainless steel frames in the iPhone 15 Pro models with lighter, albeit more expensive, titanium frames. This shift, along with the upgraded camera system in the iPhone 15 Pro Max, could result in a price increase for all four models in international markets, and potentially some pro models in the U.S.

All four iPhone 15 models are expected to adopt the Dynamic Island, eliminating the noticeable notch present in the base iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. Furthermore, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to be equipped with a 3-nanometer chip, which would make them significantly faster than the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models that carry the A16 chip.

Earlier reports suggest that the entire iPhone 15 lineup will transition to USB-C ports. However, contrary to earlier rumors, the iPhone 15 Pro models might not adopt solid-state buttons.

As for the Apple Watch, the upcoming S9 processor is expected to offer a significant performance boost, marking the first notable speed improvement since 2020.

Apple typically announces its new iPhones and Apple Watches around mid-September, so we can expect more information in the coming months. With these anticipated upgrades, Apple continues to push the boundaries of smartphone technology, offering users enhanced performance and design features.
