We have seen that the smartphone industry is adapting to the need of 5G networks all over the world. There is a renewed push from every smartphone manufacturer around the world to include 5G support inside their latest upper mid-range and flagship smartphones.

However, there is also a valid point raised by users who say that they don’t yet have 5G networks so why should they want a 5G phone. And the point is being raised because the 5G support is causing smartphone prices to go up quite high and the companies are increasing prices giving 5G as a reason for the same.

However, that is not what MediaTek has done with its latest Dimensity 1000+ Chipset because it also comes with 5G support. And if the first smartphone powered by this chip is an indication, you can get 5G support at very cheap with phones powered by this processor.

This is because it has just been revealed that IQOO Z1 will be the first smartphone to powered by this chipset and its price is set at just $350.

It is seen that IQOO Z1 will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage while also being touted as a gaming phone. Another interesting detail about this phone is that it will come with an LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 44W fast-charging.

This means that even though we won’t get an LED display, we are getting the highest refresh rate on a smartphone panel and we have also seen the issues AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rate are facing right now.

If you are concerned about the performance of MediaTek Dimensity 1000+, it must be noted that while it might not have the same power as Snapdragon 865, it is quite capable and we might even see it competing with the Snapdragon 768G which was just launched by Qualcomm.
