Is Samsung working on a clamshell design for its next Galaxy Fold?

If you have been following the world of smartphones and technology lately, you would be aware that foldable smartphones are all the buzz right now. There was a time when we did not even imagine that a smartphone could have all display on the front and the keyboard would be inside it. Because at that time, we had the fear that the display would break if pressed too hard. Later, we got gorilla glass protection which doesn’t let the display crack even under considerable pressure.

Now, we have the foldable phone which literally bends the display into half and then unfold it to make it large. This is not possible with the current glass so we have plastic protection to safeguard the display underneath it. While we know that plastic is way more fragile than glass, it is what we have available right now and there will be some innovation down the line in this regards too.

Talking about the foldable phones, we currently have two possible designs which are either a phone that becomes a tablet like the Galaxy Fold or Mate X or a mini phone that becomes a normal phone like the Moto Razr. Now, it looks like Samsung is also experimenting with its Galaxy Fold design since the next Galaxy Fold from the company might have a clamshell design.

Basically, it means that the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 might look a lot similar to the Moto Razr phone which also has a clamshell design. However, we have seen one problem that Moto Razr’s outer display is too small for any work to be done. So we are forced to open the device which might be inconvenient but is part of the design. Now, we are not sure if Samsung will change the size of the outer display but it should be done if possible.
