Gotta say Santa has been right busy this year! Thanks bro! Well, the AR capable Lenovo Phab2 Pro is here at last.
AR you recall is what made Pokemon Go a virtual global craze and restored Nintendo’s fortunes -somewhat at least. So as I was saying, the world’s first Tango smartphone is just a blink and a click away from sitting pretty in your grasping paws. The work of art is a cornucopia of future tech, dreams, hopes, and delights.
It’s a product from the gardens of the extremely ambitious Google’s Project Tango team, designed expressly to deliver the ultimate in gaming, virtual reality, and sensor fusion I kid you not. It sports a positively gargantuan 6.4-inch QHD IPS display and four yes four cameras. The cameras are an 8MP front shooter, 16MP back camera, a depth sensing infrared camera with an emitter and imager and a motion-tracking camera. The crunching power comes courtesy of a 1.8GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SOC and 4GB of system RAM. The battery is a reported 4050 MAH beast reputed capable of delivering around 15 hours of device usability. The sound promises to be epic with Dolby Atmos tech for the speakers, as well as Dolby Audio 5.1 capture tech for recording 3D sound.
All those gizmology and nothing to use it on right? Wrong. The Android app store is presently filling its cupboards with drool-worthy VR apps and games, with more due by the end of the year. The innovative device promises new, novel ways of interacting extensively with yourself, your surroundings and the world around you. It is in effect a far more advanced, exciting and more immersive version of the Pokemon Go experience.
Availability? It was formerly due to go on sale this August but sadly postponed until October. At present, its available at the company website priced at a relatively comfortable $499. Worldwide availability period is unknown. But methinks its gotta be this December so we can better interact with the Christmas turkey and the potato pudding.
