There is a confirmation from OnePlus regarding the upcoming OnePlus TVs. This piece of information is regarding the software side of things in the OnePlus TV lineup. We have already reported leaks which suggest OnePlus could launch 43”, 55”, 65” and 75” OnePlus TVs in the market. Also, we know that these TVs will be called OnePlus TVs as well. OnePlus has even revealed the logo and branding of its upcoming TV lineup. Now, you would think that anything left in the unveiling of these TVs is the design. No, there is still one more thing and that is the software.

We already know that OnePlus TVs will run on Android TV platform from Google. However, we did not know what additions OnePlus could do in Android TV to make it ‘unique’. Because OnePlus has reportedly mentioned that their TVs will not be the same as every other Smart TV in the market. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, who is also in India, has now revealed that they will run an ‘improved’ version of Android TV on its TVs.

Apart from that, their TVs will have a ‘seamless’ integration with smartphones, presumably the most with OnePlus smartphones. OnePlus CEO also confirms that their TVs will have a QLED panel rather than the traditional LCD or LED panels. This means that the price of OnePlus TV is expected to be on the higher side. However, Pete Lau mentions that they want to compete with the likes of Samsung and Sony and not the “lower-tier” ones. He says that the price will not be “half” as compared to Samsung or Sony but it will be much less and provide a better experience.

Regarding OnePlus TVs, we know that they will be exclusively available in India from Amazon. Reports suggest OnePlus will launch this lineup of TVs on September 26. Along with that, we might see the OnePlus 7T series being launched as well.
