Oppo is at it again! Their latest budget to mid-range offering excitingly comes in both Gold and Rosy Gold versions. And we haven’t even started on the features. Though, if you are long time Samsung or Apple aficionado and user, I wouldn’t get your hopes way up if I were you.

The Oppo A 39 screen is a shyly and modestly beautiful 5.2-inch, 2.5D curved glass capacitive touchscreen with a relatively low 1280 x 720 resolution. Which comes out to around 282 PPI. Lifting power is courtesy of a 1.5GHZ Mediatek processor which is coupled to a Mali T860 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Internal storage is a hefty 32 GB, which is readily expandable to a more massive 128 GB courtesy of an external SD card.

The cameras are a 13 Megapixel back shooter with LED flash and a 5MP selfie maker. Battery juice is a decent 2900 mAh, capable of some hours of use. Dual nano SIM with dual standby, 4G with VOLTE, Wifi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, light, proximity and gravity sensors and an electronic compass make up the rest of the surprisingly tasty fare. Weight is a manageable and sleek 147 grams. The OS is the venerable Android 5.1 Lollipop with some extra customization built on top. Not to worry though, the current OS is supposed to be upgraded to the latest Android version soon.

Availability? In Asia at the moment with the rest of the globe to follow soon after.

Thoughts? Oppo has done well with this. Comparing its price -about Rs. 15,857- and hefty features, this is surely a very competitive offering and guarantees most of the bells and whistles we have come to expect on smartphones at a tiny fraction of the usual cost. Should you buy it? Yes, you can. If you have much money to draw from your right pocket, you could call a taxi and head into the Oppo store.
